It's meant to be an oasis -- an escape from the storms of everyday life, says managing chef John Michael Brown, and a way for people to discover the flair of Caribbean fare. Open since March 2004, Bahama Breeze is one of a chain of 32 restaurants operating under Darden Restaurants Inc. of Orlando, Fla., the world's largest casual dining company, which also owns and operates Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Smokey Bones. However, the Robinson location differs from the norm, says Brown -- it's a prototype that's laid out differently from the others.
Why the Ministry of Education is so backward?
It is with irritation and frustration that I am writing this letter. I am a qualified business education teacher with a Master's Degree in technology education and 10 years teaching experience. I just recently left the private sector to enter the public education system in September 2006. As of today, I have not been issued a letter of employment and neither have I been paid a salary.How is it that in the 21st Century it is taking the Ministry of Education so long to get their salary sheet in order? I have worked in the private education system in The Bahamas and in the United States and I have never experienced this echelon of inefficiency.
On the October 30, I spoke with Minister Sears while he was at Jack Hayward High School. At the time I spoke to him regarding the lack of functional computers, issues in the computer labs and my financial dilemma.

His death at 11:42 a.m. was confirmed by Mike Dowd, chief investigator for the medical examiner's office in Oakland County. Maintain a trail // Friends of the Patapsco Valley and Heritage Greenway will work with the Mid Atlantic Off Road Enthusiasts, a mountain-bicycling group, to maintain trails in the Avalon Area of Patapsco Valley State Park from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.- or until the work is done. Volunteers will be admitted free to the park. To participate, take Route 195 east toward the airport and exit onto U.S. 1 south. Turn right onto South Street, then left into the park entrance and let the guard know you are volunteering.
