Ono seeks millions in Lennon royalties
Yoko Ono is suing music company EMI Group PLC and a subsidiary for $10 million, claiming she was cheated out of royalties from the sale of recordings by her late husband, John Lennon. The lawsuit accuses EMI and Capitol Records Inc. of violating a half-dozen agreements by "willfully and knowingly underreporting royalties" by hiding the "true use and disposition of Lennon's recordings."A spokeswoman for EMI/Capitol would not discuss Ono's lawsuit specifically, but said, "Artists from time to time request audits of their royalty accounts. Sometimes there are differences of opinion, which is understandable given the complex nature of recording contracts." The contracts are sometimes subject to interpretation, she said, "but 99 times out of 100 these things are resolved in an amicable way."

Pamela Anderson has revealed she likes to visit her friend, photographer David LaChapelle after a night out for a nude photoshoot. She told Blender magazine: "When I go to Hollywood, I start at the Chateau Marmont and then I usually end up naked in David LaChapelle's studio taking crazy pictures. That's usually a night for me. Four or five in the morning, lying across a car in David's studio." Former glamour model Kelly Brook's parents were less than impressed when she told them she was dating her Three co-star Billy Zane. Kelly revealed recently: "They were furious that I started seeing him. They thought, 'The leading man? God Kelly, how predictable'." The father of the Malawian boy that Madonna adopted recently didn't quite get the whole "adoption" thing, evidently. Today, Yohame Banda says that he didn't realize that he'd have to give up the baby to the pop queen forever and ever when he consented to the adoption.The 32-year-old Banda, a produce farmer from Malawi, tells the Associated Press that he is just now understanding what happened to his son. "If we were told that she wants to take the baby as her own we would not have consented, because I see no reason why I should give away my son," said Banda. So what exactly did he think was going to happen? Banda says he thought that the biggest female pop star in the world was just going to take care of David as an orphanage would for several years, and then return him to his native village of Lipunga.Smith's son has Bahamas burial
Reality TV personality Anna Nicole Smith buried her son Thursday in a ceremony punctuated by screams and cries, nearly six weeks after he mysteriously died while visiting her in the hospital where she had given birth to a daughter. A gold-colored hearse brought Daniel Smith's body to the cemetery in Nassau, Bahamas, followed by three white limousines. The mahogany casket was whisked inside a large green tent for the service attended by about 20 people. Wailing and screaming was heard from inside the tent. "My dearest son Daniel, you were my rock, you were the only one who could keep me solid," read a program from the service. "Why God took you away from me now I do not understand." The 38-year-old former Playboy playmate, who gave birth to a daughter three days before her son died Sept. 10 at her hospital bedside, attended the service, said Loretta Butler-Turner, director of the funeral home hired by the family.Cruising through menopause
The Talk. It's a phrase that can put a genuinely ice cold fear into the hearts of parents of young adolescents around the globe. From the youthful perspective, it equates to the ephemeral fountain of youth - that ultimate knowledge containing all the world's deepest, darkest secrets. The thought of attaining this knowledge is the only thing (we think) we'll need to know about being an adult. We are so wrong. At 13 (yes, I certainly hope you 'talk' with your child sooner than that), all we care about is 1) how to be attractive to the opposite sex without being a dork and 2) getting rid of pimples and underarm perspiration. I think there should be a talk for me and all of my sisters embarking on that weird cruise ship we call menopause. We already have a code word for it, "the change." How freakin' ambiguous is that? Change doesn't even begin to touch the evolutionary acrobatics women go through at this juncture.
Twin boy, girl join Etheridge, partner
Melissa Etheridge and her partner, Tammy Lynn Michaels, are the new parents of twins, the couple said. Michaels gave birth to a boy and girl last Tuesday: son Miller Steven and daughter Johnnie Rose."Tammy and the babies are in excellent health," Etheridge said on her Web site. The babies were conceived using an anonymous donor from a sperm bank.
"The creation of life brings about immeasurable love, and pours hope into the future. The joy will help carry us through our upcoming sleepless nights," the couple said in a statement.
Etheridge, 45, and former "L Word" star Michaels, 31, held a commitment ceremony in 2003. The Grammy-winning singer has two children with former partner Julie Cypher, who had the kids through artificial insemination using a sperm donation from rocker David Crosby.
