NASA delays decision on postponing shuttle launchCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. -- With Tropical Storm Ernesto slowing down its jog toward Florida, NASA managers postponed Sunday night making a decision on whether to move the space shuttle indoors or try a launch attempt on Tuesday.NASA managers, with a few more hours of breathing room, planned to meet again early Monday before making a final call. Moving Atlantis back to the Vehicle Assembly building would challenge NASA's ability to launch Atlantis before a Sept. 7 deadline. The space agency wants to launch before then so the shuttle's visit to the international space station doesn't interfere with the trip of a Russian Soyuz in mid-September. But NASA doesn't want the shuttle on the launch pad if winds are greater than 45 mph. Crews need two days to safely move the shuttle, and weather forecasters predicted the storm could be anywhere from the eastern Gulf near the Florida panhandle to the western Bahamas by Wednesday. Kerzner says Bahamas project gives it edge for Sentosa resort bidBAHAMAS : US resort operator Kerzner International is counting on its success in the Bahamas to tip the balance in its favour in the race for the Sentosa integrated resort. The Kerzner-run Atlantis resort was seen as instrumental in pulling the Bahamas out of a six-year-old recession and turning tourism into a key pillar of the economy. Kerzner, together with CapitaLand, is one of the key contenders for the Sentosa integrated resort. It believes that its success in the Bahamas may give it the much-needed edge against rival bidders. There are three key similarities between the Atlantis and the upcoming Sentosa integrated resort. The Atlantis resort is built on the small Paradise Island, very much like Sentosa, and also connected to the mainland via a bridge. Secondly, the casino is a very small component of the resort, occupying 55,000 square feet or just slightly more than 1% of the existing property.BODOG HEADS FOR THE BAHAMASYou can't keep a good online gambling group down! The Bodog group's conference organisers have made a remarkably fast recovery following the postponement of the company's popular marketing conference in Vegas last month following Department of Justice activities in the BetonSports case (see earlier Online-Casinos.com and InfoPowa bulletins)The 2006 Bodog.com Marketing Conference has a new date (still to be confirmed), and a proposed new home that's spectacular to say the least. Conference-goers will become thrill seekers, sun worshippers, archeologists and adventurers at Atlantis.com, a stunning fantasy land devised and built with no cost spared by international entrepreneur Sol Kerzner. NASA to decide whether to try launch or move space shuttleCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. The enormous crawler-transporter vehicle has been tested in case it's needed to move the space shuttle indoors, and crews have made room inside the Vehicle Assembly Building to accommodate Atlantis if needed. Preparations were under way to move the space shuttle out of the way of Tropical Storm Ernesto, but NASA was waiting until early this morning before making a final call on whether to move Atlantis indoors or try to launch tomorrow. There was a 30 percent chance that weather would prohibit a launch tomorrow, and the forecast worsened as the week progressed. NASA doesn't want the shuttle on the launch pad if winds are greater than 45 miles-per-hour. Crews need two days to safely move the shuttle, and weather forecasters predicted the storm could be anywhere from the eastern Gulf near the Florida panhandle to the western Bahamas by Wednesday.NASA delay decision on postponing shuttle launch a second day or moreCAPE CANAVERAL, Fla.
