Grand Bahama - First Time Vistors with Kids

Many kids like vacations to theme parks; however, a trip to Grand Bahamas is just as fun. Children get to fly kites, play on the beach, feed fish, and a whole lot more.

Planning a normal vacation for your kids can be challenging and tough. Most kids only like Disney World or the places that have exciting trill rides. Trill rides are entertaining; however, the simplest vacations generally create lifetime memories. At a theme park, kids spend most of their time enjoying the rides. Although the rides are fun, kids will have little time to enjoy their family members' company. In the Grand Bahamas, families get to spend tons of time with one another while visiting great beaches. If you want to create great memories with your kids, you can definitely take your family to Grand Bahama. Grand Bahama has many fun activities and great tasting food that everyone will enjoy.

Kids love to eat burgers, chicken, and fish; the Grand Bahamas offer all of these items. The fish, one of Grand Bahamas tastiest items, is not expensive. Because the fish is affordable, the fish shack gets crowded almost every day of the week. Your children will love the fish, but you should wait until the crowd reduces before visiting the snack. Do not visit on a crowded day because your kids will get impatient waiting for the food. The biggest crowd shows up on Wednesdays, and it is the toughest day to find a seat. Waiting for a good, less crowded day can take a while, so you should take your kids somewhere else to eat in the meantime.

Although the fish is popular, there are other meals worth trying too. In the Market Place, you will find many great places to have dinner. For lunch, you should checkout a place called Billy Joes. Billy Joes is located right passed the Sheraton; the owner sells excellent seafood. One of the best items on the menu is the Fried Snapper, so everyone should taste it. Your kids, however, may not like the snapper due to its seafood flavor. If your children dislike the snapper, you can order them a hotdog instead. After your family has finished lunch, it will be a good time for your children to have some fun.

If your kids love playgrounds, they will not find many in Grand Bahama. Many tourists think that MacDonald's has the best playground within the area. MacDonald's does have nice slides and swings, but your kids might want to try something different during their vacation. The playground next to Taino Beach is unique because there is a beach across the street from it. The best thing about this playground is that your kids can go to the beach after they are done swinging. Playgrounds and beaches are cool, but some kids like animals and zoos. There is a great place in Grand Bahamas that has an animal petting zoo and a jungle gym as well.

If your kids like animals, they will love the Garden on the Groove. Your kids will see parrots, alligators, and other kinds of animals too. The petting zoo area is also nice; your kids are allowed to touch each friendly animal they see. When your children get tired of viewing the animals, they can go play on the nearby jungle gym in the petting zoo. While at the petting zoo, kids are not allowed to feed the animals. If your children would like to feed some animals, you should take them to Gold Rock Beach.

At Gold Rock Beach, your kids can feed the fishes that swim under the bridge. The fish in Gold Rock Beach love bread, so give your kids plenty of slices. Your might notice other families in the area as well, and they might be flying kites. If you want a kite for your kids, you can buy one from the 2-dollar store in Grand Bahama.

If you want to take a fun filled vacation that your kids will love, you should visit Grand Bahama.

Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
