Bahamas - Nassau - A Fun Inexpensive Day

A day in the Bahamas does not have to be expensive; there are easy ways to save money on your vacation. There are many cheap tours worth trying, and some of them are free

Spending a day in Nassau without a lot of money is not impossible; there are ways to enjoy yourself even if you are on a budget. If you visit the right places, you can end your day without spending much money; in fact, some of the best activities are free. When you plan correctly, by the end of the day, you will have plenty of money left over to spend on other things such as a dinner at a popular restaurant anywhere in the Bahamas.

You should start making your plans during your ship ride to the Bahamas. If you like to read the magazines onboard, you may see some snorkeling ads in them, but you should think before you consider one of those activities. Sure, they may sound great, but there is another way to take a great snorkeling trip in Nassau, and it is much cheaper.

Stuart Cove offers an amazing snorkeling experience at a reasonable cost, but the best part is that it includes a tour as well. You will get to see many underwater animals, and get a tour of the area; it is a great deal, so you should consider visiting Stuart Cove when you arrive in the Bahamas.

After the tour, you should probably buy something as a souvenir for yourself or for your family back home, but since you are on a budget, you need to watch how you shop. When you visit the stores in downtown Nassau, you will see many items that you will want to buy, but you have to control yourself. Envelopes are a great way to prevent over spending; here is how you use them.

When you are in your hotel room, get the envelopes and write the names of the people you are buying something for on each one. Once the names are on each envelope, put the amount of money you plan to spend inside of each one and close it. Leave the rest of your money at the hotel and then go shopping, this way, if you see something you want, you will not have enough cash for it and you will stay on your budget.

If you feel as though your first water tour was not enough, you can see a whole lot more from land, particularly by using the public tour bus. The public tour bus is only $1.00 and it is worth a try; however, one of the best tours you can take is free and is available at the Queen’s Staircase. The Queen’s Staircase tour is a cool way to learn about the history of the building, and it is a lot of fun. Kids; however, may not like this tour because they will not understand it, so teenager and adults should only take this tour.

As the day goes by, you will need to relax at some point, so you should visit a public beach. There is a nice public beach just pass the British Colonial Hilton, it is not like other beaches because you get to see ships entering and leaving the docks. It is a peaceful area; however, the walk there is about a mile from downtown Nassau, but it is worth the trip.

Budgeting in the Bahamas is not difficult; you just have to pick the right activities and manage your cash when you visit the stores in Nassau

Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
