Bahamas - Dolphin TourThe dolphin tour in the Bahamas is a cool attraction for kids. You have to book your spot early, because it is a popular tour which sells out fast. The Bahamas is an excellent place to bring children because it has great attractions that will keep them happy for hours. Excited kids visit the zoo in Nassau and the dolphins in Paradise Island every year, and a smile stays on their faces. The zoo is an awesome place to visit until the dolphin encounter starts; there are many kinds of tropical animals in the zoo and unique shows as well. The dolphin encounter will be the highlight of your kid’s vacation, so make every effort to book your spot while you are in the Bahamas. When you and your kids get off the cruise ship in Nassau, you will not have any problems finding your destinations because there is a welcome center near the dock. The dolphin encounter should be your number one priority, because it is a memorable experience. Booking a spot early is necessary; if you wait to the last minute, you might get a spot on the boat; however, you will not get a chance to swim with the dolphins. If this happens, you have to decide if you want to take your children and let them watch everyone else have fun with the dolphins, or wait until another encounter starts. If you have young kids, they may start wining about how they want to play with the dolphins, but they will not be allowed to, which will make them sad. Preteens and teenagers will better understand the rules, so if you book a spot only for watching from the boat, bringing them is a good idea. If you bring your small kids, remember to book early, because they will get a chance to play with the dolphins and have more fun. |

If you book your spot early in the day, you will have time for other activities until the tours starts. There many activities to try; however, the zoo is a good choice because it is free to visit, and if you go there at the right time, you might see an animal show. Ardestra zoo has an amazing flamingo marching show that your kids will love; when they see those animals, they will remain focused on them until the show is over. The flamingo show is worth seeing, but before it starts, you and your kids can watch the staff feed the parrots in their cages. The flamingo shows start around 2:00 and the parrot feeding show starts earlier at 1:00. You should leave the zoo a few hours before your dolphin encounter starts if you choose not to see the shows. The traffic is the main reason you need the extra time, because a 10-minute drive can easily take close to an hour. After your car ride, you will have to take the ferry to Paradise Island to get on the dolphin boat, which is where the actually tour begins. Fun with the dolphins is an activity your kids will enjoy, so remember to book your spot early so your children can swim with them Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea. The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter Find the best vacation deal, compare prices and read what other travelers have to say at Bahamas Vacation Hotel Links to other Caribbean islands Anguilla Aruba Barbados Bermuda Bonaire Cuba Curacao Dominica Dominican Republic Grenada Guadeloupe Haiti Jamaica Martinique Montserrat Puerto Rico Saba St. Barthelemy St. Eustatius St. Lucia St. Maarten/St. Martin |
