The Bahamas - Dolphin Encounter in Blue Lagoon

A barefoot sailing tour in the Bahamas is an excellent way to spend an entire day. The crew is nice, and they even serve hot meals to the tourists onboard

Dolphins are fun animals, and kids love them because they are entertaining and playful. When you visit The Bahamas, you absolutely have to take a dolphin encounter because it is a tour that is fun for kids and adults as well. Kids love the fact that they can pet the dolphins and perform tricks with them; adults enjoy petting the dolphins too, and they like learning about them from the trainers. Overall, a dolphin encounter must be taken if you are planning a trip to The Bahamas, it is a memorable experience, and it is worth every penny.

The important thing you need to know if you want to try this tour is that the spots go fast, so you have to book in advance. Dolphin encounters are extremely popular in The Bahamas, and there are many places to try it, but one of the best tours is the ones that go to Blue Lagoon.

The trainers take tourists to see the dolphins throughout the day, but the best time to see the dolphins is early in the morning. The morning tours starts at around 8:30, so you have to get up early if you want to have breakfast with your kids. If your kids are tough to wake up in the morning, it is best to skip breakfast and get something at the touring site. There is a snack machine in the building where the leaves, which should provide you and your kids with enough food before the tour starts.

After you had your snacks, you can head outdoors to meet the other tourists and the trainers. Once you met everyone, you are asked to change into your swimming gear by using the changing stations. If you prefer not to get wet, the staff has wetsuits that you can rent, but it will cost extra. When everyone is ready, the staff boards everyone onto the boat and travels to Blue Lagoon, which is about a 20-minute ride.

Once the boat stops, the trainers give everyone a 10-minute orientation about the dolphins, and environment. What the trainers tell you is quite interesting, and it helps you better understand the animals’ living condition, and their behavior. You should listen to the trainers closely, because some of the tips will help you when you finally meet a dolphin up close in the water on this tour.

When the trainers finish talking, they will entertain everyone by doing some amazing tricks with the dolphins. Some of the best tricks are awesome to watch; however, the staff only lets tourists try the simple ones. The water that the dolphins swim in is about 12 ft deep, but if you are not a good swimmer, you can use a floatation device.

Once you meet the dolphins in the water, you are allowed to pet, dance with, kiss, and feed them; you also get to try a cool trick. The trick requires two dolphins on each side of you; when you are ready, you give the animals a signal, and they will pull you through the water.

A dolphin encounter is one of the best tours you can take in The Bahamas because it provides tons of fun for everyone

Easy access to The Bahamas is one reason for its long-standing popularity as a winter holiday destination. Only a few miles from the south Florida coast, in fact closer than Caribbean destinations, the islands can be reached quickly either by air or by sea.

The Bahama Islands temperatures rarely drop below 60 degrees F, or rise above 90 degrees F. Most of the rain fall occurs in the summer months. The sea temperature ranges from the low 80's in the summer to about 74 degrees F in the winter
